ATENVELDT COLLEGE OF HERALDS 10 December 2005, A.S. XL
LETTER OF PRESENTATION Kingdom of Atenveldt

Unto the Honourable Lord Seamus McDaid, Aten Principal Herald; the Heralds in the Atenveldt College of Heralds; and to All Whom These Presents Come,

Greetings of the Season from Marta as tu Mika-Mysliwy, Parhelium Herald!

This is an Addendum to the November 2005 internal Atenveldt Letter of Presentation – just a few last-minute submissions for your consideration. (Yeah, Happy Holidays!) I accept online commentary, in addition to questions pertaining to heraldry and consultation for names and armory: brickbat@nexiliscom.com. Please have comments or questions to me, on any armorial matter, by 15 December 2005.

Please consider the following submissions for the December 2005 Atenveldt Letter of Intent:

Amy Marie MacCormack (Twin Moons): NEW DEVICE CHANGE

Per chevron inverted ver and purpure, a chevron inverted embattled and in base a spaniel statant Or.

Both her name and currently registered device, Per chevron inverted vert and purpure, a chevron inverted embattled-counterembattled Or between a harp argent and a spaniel statant Or., were registered January 2004. She wishes to simplify her current armory; if this is registered, she wants to release the old device.

Elaria filia Robert (Brymstone): NEW NAME

Vert, a leaf and a tierce Or.

Elaria is a feminine given name dated to 1212 in “Feminine Given Names in A Dictionary of English Surnames,” Talan Gwynek

( http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/talan/reaney/reaney.cgi?Eulalia ). Robert is a masculine name found in “Men's Given Names from Early 13th Century England,” Talan Gwynek ( http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/talan/eng13/eng13m.html ); Withycombe dates Robert(us) to the Domeday Book 1086 ( pp. 254-5). The patronymic is a Latin documentary form, the use of “X filia Y” found in “Names from 13th Century Northumberland,” Sara L. Uckelman (http://www.ellipsis.cx/~liana/names/english/northumberland.html ). The client will not accept major changes to the name.

According to the Pictorial Dictionary, this smooth-edged leaf is the default heraldic leaf.

Hrefna Gandalfsdottir (Brymstone): NEW DEVICE

Per saltire vert and argent, a raven close sable.

The name appears in the 30 November 2005 Atenveldt Letter of Intent.
